Job Title: Cost AccountantJob Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to maintain reports and analysis alongside operations to drive cost and process improvements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gross margin analysis, product costing, reserve analysis for aging inventory, and raw material standards analysis. Additionally, this role involves analyzing actual manufacturing costs, preparing monthly and quarterly reports, and assisting with monthly cost forecasts.
Responsibilities
Maintain reports and analysis alongside operations to drive cost and process improvements
Conduct gross margin analysis and reporting
Calculate and apply labor and overhead standards, and monitor variances
Manage product costing and maintenance
Perform reserve analysis for aging inventory
Analyze raw material standards and usage, including PPV analysis
Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare monthly reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly reports
Maintain and create monthly cost of material forecasts
Research and develop strategies to minimize materials, labor, scrap, and overhead variances
Assist in the preparation of monthly cost forecasts and analyze actual results versus previous forecasts
Identify continuous improvement opportunities
Partner with the purchasing organization to help drive inventory reductions through recurring inventory reporting and excessive and obsolete material analysis
Roll up standard costs as needed to support revision rolls/new parts and re-cost all parts monthly
Review monthly manufacturing cost activity during monthly close and journalize adjustments as required
Monitor inventory and assets, ensuring cycle count accuracy and fixed asset inventories

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $43.00
