Job Description:

This position requires a disciplined individual who demonstrates initiative, takes ownership for project work, and exhibits a high level of electrical design proficiency. This is an Electrical Designer position.

Duties, Knowledge and Responsibilities:

  • Developing control panel designs including:

  • Assisting in specification and selection of control panel components

  • Design and creation of power distribution schematics (480VAC, 240/120VAC and 24VDC)

  • Design and creation of PLC I/O schematics

  • Enclosure and sub panel layout of components

  • Being available to help panel assemblers with questions on your designs

  • Develop electrical designs for industrial controls panels using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical

  • Creating 2D CAD drawings for control panel layouts and schematics

  • Develop detailed bill of materials for each panel design

    Required Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree from college or technical vocational school or relevant experience

  • 3+ years experience designing electrical control panels

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Knowledge of motor controls including soft starters and VFDs

  • Knowledge of industrial control panels and associated components

  • Familiarity with PLCs and associated I/O as well as industrial network hardware

  • Attention to detail and an ability to multi-task

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team on fast-track projects

  • Strong interpersonal, listening and communication skills (written and oral)

    Desired but not required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Design experience using AutoCAD ELECTRICAL software

  • Knowledge of UL508A Standard for Industrial Control Panels

  • Knowledge of SAP Business One
