Position Announcement

Utah Tech University (UT) is seeking an energetic, self-motivated candidate to join the Admissions team and campus community. This position will report to the assistant director of admission recruitment and focus on the recruitment of prospective students to Utah Tech University. The position offers the unique opportunity to engage with potential students and their families in one of the most exciting times in their lives. This Regional Admissions Counselor works on the UT campus (with opportunities for limited remote work) and on-the-road to coordinate student recruitment efforts in the surrounding region.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a holistic recruitment strategy for prospective undergraduate students in Utah and surrounding states.

  • Building relationships with prospective students, families, school counselors, alumni, and other constituents in support of the recruitment goals.

  • Support prospective students as they move through the recruitment process through all communication channels, answering questions about the admissions process, alleviating concerns, assisting with application submission, and following through to enrollment.

  • Coordinate and market student recruitment events.

  • Represent the University at college fairs, job fairs, student recruitment events, etc.

  • Generate and analyze enrollment analytics of assigned territory and make strategic student recruitment decisions based on data analysis.

  • Work with Ambassadors, educating them on recruiting in your prospective territory.

  • Assist with any new student recruitment activities as assigned by the Director of Admissions.

  • This position will require travel in support of student recruitment activities. Travel will be required for extended periods of time. Position will be required to live in Southern Utah and perform administrative tasks from an on-campus office when not traveling for recruitment events and activities, with opportunities for limited remote work.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Those within one year of completing their degree will also be considered.

  • Ability to live in the assigned regional area, work effectively in a remote team environment, and travel in support of student recruitment activities, both for short and extended periods of time including work some evenings and weekends.

  • Demonstrated proficient oral and written communication, including interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated good time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and complete multiple tasks in an organized manner, ensuring a balanced and efficient workload.

  • Supply a valid driver’s license and vehicle for traveling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, marketing or related field.

  • Full-time job experience specifically in university campus recruiting, student leadership or college advising.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.

Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Full-time overtime-exempt staff position. Annual salary of $44,000, with a desired start date of August 2024.
