The role

The purpose of this position is to provide technical direction to Weidmanns internal and external customers on the application of Weidmann materials and products in transformer insulation designs, in order to achieve the business growth objectives of Weidmann.

How youll make an impact

Advise managers, executives, and global teams on technical matters, best practices, and strategic activities related to key products and projects.

Monitor industry trends, including customer needs and competitor developments.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and support their development.

Provide training and technical support to engineers to enhance their skills.

Represent Weidmann\'s expertise by participating in industry committees and events.

Support continuous improvement, preventative actions, and corrective measures.

Work with the commercial team to ensure customer satisfaction through direct technical support.

Understand and analyze transformer insulation design using specialized tools and methods.

Create and evaluate designs, specifications, and customer requirements for insulation components.

Offer technical guidance to internal teams on product applications in transformers.

Lead the development of new product ideas, including research and prioritization.

Manage innovation projects, production trials, and customer validation to prepare products for commercialization.

Maintain thorough documentation to meet quality and regulatory standards.

What do you bring

Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred).

At least 15 years of experience, ideally in areas like transformer design, manufacturing, product development, R&D, leadership, project management, and working with customers.

Strong skills in English (spoken and written), problem-solving, interpersonal communication, and software tools (e.g., MS Office, CAD).

Willing to travel internationally as needed.

Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.

Ability to manage and update schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and meet performance goals.

Participation in IEEE or similar industry groups is a bonus.
