Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Area Security Officer - Journeyman to join our team! In this role you will get to provide support to the customer Security Operations Division by disseminating overarching security program implementation guidance, to include foreign disclosure and release, personnel, physical and industrial security programs. In addition, provide assistance to the site security managers in the day-to-day implementation of the agency security program. These functions include, but are not limited to: preparation of plans, procedures, risk and vulnerability assessments, reviews and assessments of facility protection profile requirements and capabilities; create, catalog, and maintain hard and soft copy libraries of Memorandum of Agreements / Memorandum of Understanding (MOA/MOUs).

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Utilize security concepts, principles and practices to analyze and resolve difficult and complex security issues

  • Collaboration and coordination with various offices and divisions within an organization

  • Provide security guidance to contractors using DoD and IC regulations and requirements – analyze complex data and make appropriate program recommendations

  • Monitor security applications through the review and analysis of appropriate metrics and maintains required records

  • Prepare and disseminate security procedures/guidance

  • Investigate and prepare impact statements and provide recommendations on security/security violations

  • Manage project milestones

  • Update and maintain appropriate records (e.g. database and hardcopy) of security actions

  • Interpret security policy on matters pertaining to processing, dissemination, and controlling of classified materials

  • Receive, control and safeguard SCI and collateral information

  • Prepare outgoing classified messages on employees/contractor visiting other government facilities

  • Prepare and deliver briefings to internal and external customers. Prepares various forms of correspondence

  • Develop the required program/operation to support tasks/requirements

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of relevant experience

  • Active TS with SCI eligibility and ability to successfully complete a polygraph examination.

  • Experience with multiple Security disciplines – Industrial, Physical, Personnel, Cyber, Information

  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior customers and peers to achieve goals

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member

  • Positive, engaging communication skills

  • Clear and concise writing skills

  • Excellent organizational skills to ensure meeting required timelines
