This position has a flexible work arrangement that allows for telework or a mixture of working in the office and telework.

As the Health Care Director of Equity and Inclusion you will provide leadership and direction to division directors and staff in the Health Care Administration to strategically plan for and obtain legislative, stakeholder, and organizational support for changes in multiple public programs overseen by the administration to promote access and more equitable outcomes for Minnesotans who receive publicly-funded health care services. To achieve this, the person in this position must:

· Champion the administration's strategic planning around diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion to develop and implement promising goals and strategies;

· Collaborate with other key leaders in directing efforts for the administration to understand gaps in social and physical determinants of health between the communities experiencing health disparities and the population receiving services as a whole;

· Work closely with division directors, the administration's Equity Committee, legislative professionals and external stakeholders to promote changes in public policy to improve outcomes for cultural and ethnic communities, American Indians, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA2S+ and other populations experiencing health disparities

Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years specialized professional experience leading a large and diverse organization in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion related programs. Experience must include:

  • Championing equity, inclusion and anti-racism by evaluating policies, procedures and ideas to interrupt systemic racism and provide recommendations for improvement

  • Experience with contemporary diversity, equity, inclusion and multiculturalism theories and issues

  • Successful track record with applied strategic planning, change management and project management

  • In depth engagement with ethnically and culturally-diverse communities, American Indian communities, people with disabilities, and other communities that experience health inequities

  • Proven experience with influencing/directing goals, objectives or policy and/or influencing decision makers/policymakers

  • Experience supporting and advising teams; coordinate training and staff development; meeting facilitation

Preferred Qualifications

· Master’s Degree in Public Policy, Human Services, Public Administration, Business Administration or similar field.

· Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
