Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our DCT Health Information Management Services (HIMS) Leadership Team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a HIMS Electronic Health Record (EHR) Supervisor! This position works across DCT and in partnership with DCT Leaders, Forensic Services, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment Services (MHSATS), Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP), Ambulatory Services, Community Based Services (CBS), system vendors, and Minnesota Information Technology (MNIT). This position is responsible for the oversight and management of electronic medical record HIMS workflows, related software applications, and HIMS systems administration activities. This position works directly with the DCT HIMS Director, MNIT, and EHR vendors in developing and managing the efficiency, integrity and ongoing workflow requirements of the EHR.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with testing and implementation of EHR upgrades and related system interfaces.

  • Developing and assuring compliant EHR patient identification and chart correction workflows, policy, and procedure development.

  • Directly supervising and managing the HIMS EHR Analysts.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated leadership experience: Leadership experience can include:

  • Experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead;

  • Completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.g., ELI, L4);

  • A paid/unpaid position leading a program or chairing a committee (e.g., Employee Resource Group) - experience must include:

  • 1+ year of experience identifying issues, goals and strategic actions.

  • 100+ hours per year time commitment

AND

Three (3) years of HIMS or EHR experience, which may include record management, coding, EHR system administration, and/or health information management. Experience must include the following:

  • Experience with testing and implementation of system interfaces.

  • Experience working with data analytics and qualitative analysis.

  • Experience communicating complex information to a wide variety of audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in Health Information Management or related field.

  • Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician or Registered Health Information Administrator by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

  • Advanced computer and internet skills.

  • Knowledge of hospital systems and workflow.

  • Experience with current state and federal law, rules, regulations and procedures, and accreditation and licensing requirements relative to record and health information management, court orders, data privacy and access, and release of information.
