Ongoing training and professional development CommonBond Communities invites qualified applicants to apply for the Property Accountant 1 positionat our Central Office in St. Paul, Minnesota. The Property Management Accountant 1 position is an accounting professional responsible for all phases of accounting for multiple sets of property books, prepares and reviews monthly reports and provides support to the accounting department. This position will be working primarily with HUD Sites. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ASSOCIATED TASKS Perform all financial accounting and reporting for a portfolio of individual properties Support Property Management and Advantage Services teams in the effective operation of properties, including: Monthly, or more frequently as needed, financial reviews with each H&S Property Management team Ongoing training with H&S property teams to ensure proper recording of transactions and use of our Yardi system Monitoring of property cash flows and coordination of cash advance activity with Asset Management and Property Management Monitoring of property cash flows and coordination of cash advance activity with Asset Management and Property Management General ledger and journal entry maintenance for property books (HUD and Stable Properties) Maintains schedules for assets, liabilities, and depreciation Produces accurate monthly and year end financials for management and board members Reconciles bank accounts, utilities, other vendor accounts Prepares audit schedules Complies with all internal control procedures Assists with site budgets. Act as primary resource of financial operation for the property managers and other site personnel Accurately prepare reports for distribution to management and various government agencies Cash Balance Overview- Weekly Calculate and bill management fees and escrow payments monthly Other duties as assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Previous work or internship experience Competency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to maintain effective internal control procedures Attention to detail and accuracy Demonstrated experience working within diverse communities, which include people of various ages, gender, sexual orientations, national origins, income levels, ability levels, religious affiliations, races, and languages Ability to work independently and cross functionally Excellent customer service, organization, and both written and oral communication skills Ability to manage multiple duties while adhering to established deadlines PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Experience with property management Experience with Yardi (ERP system) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to sit for extended periods of time Ability to type data into a computer Ability to lift up to 10 pounds OTHER REQUIREMENTS Must be willing and able to work extended hours as necessary to support the organization's requirements Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabil ties The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
