Create and upload related journal entries. Reconcile accounts monthly. Develop process improvements * Research and develop options for tracking asset locations and usage. Implement agreed upon solutions. Maintain the process and propose adjustments as necessary. * Prepare and file Personal Property Tax reports. Ensure payments are made. Improve tracking and related processes. * Review each week's check run prior to payment to ensure accuracy and compliance with protocols. Suggest process improvements. * Perform monthly bank reconciliations. * Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations. * Maintain sales & use tax schedules. * Work with fellow team members to resolve any issues that are discovered, and track until completion. * Various journal entries and account reconciliations. * Participate in annual external financial statement audit and other audits. Essential Qualifications: * All offers of employment for this position are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check which meets company standards. This will be conducted post-offer acceptance. * Bachelors Degree in Finance and/or Accounting * Previous experience preparing account reconciliations and journal entries * Previous experience assisting with Audits * Exceptional attention to detail Preferred Qualifications: * 5 years of previous accounting experience * Knowledge of working at a company that has multiple subcompanies * Working with Loans/Leases * Experience with the following software: AEC360, Quickbooks, LeaseQuery * Past experience going through an ERP implementation/transition Who We Are Better Places. Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $85,000 and $95,000 based on skill set and experience.
