Job Summary:

In this role you will perform a wide variety of duties connected with general equipment and building maintenance, and repair work such as carpentry, welding, plumbing, pipe fitting, electrical, millwright work, general repairs and maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose equipment trouble. Work from blueprints, schematic drawings, handbooks, supervisory direction and outside advisors as necessary, to put equipment into proper operating condition.

  • Move and install plant equipment. Level and align as necessary.

  • Perform general plumbing and pipe fitting operations on water, and air lines; trace out troubles and make necessary repairs; install new or alter existing lines. repair leaks, valves, traps.

  • Perform a normal range of plant carpentry.

  • Perform electrical work such as installing, repairing, and replacing controls, rewire equipment and building facilities. Diagnose and locate source of electrical difficulty. Test and balance circuits.

  • Use welding equipment, drill press, and other shop equipment to repair or fabricate equipment parts.

  • Direct and instruct work of Maintenance II and Maintenance personnel.

  • Detect and report operating difficulties or specific problems to proper supervision. Observe good housekeeping practices and prescribed safety precautions.

  • New installations and modifications to existing equipment to be done in compliance with OSHA regulations.

  • To update and maintain OSHA log or records as directed.

  • Must comply with all Company work policies.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Safety Equipment:

  • Steel toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses or applicable PPE based on task.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in carpentry, welding, plumbing, pipe fitting, millwright work and have a strong background in electrical (480 V-3 phase).

  • Must have valid driver’s license.

Physical and Travel Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Manufacturing environment / outdoor environment.

  • Minimal local travel.
