Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the VP of Leadership & Development, develops education programs to support the firm’s objectives for leadership development and key talent/high-potential development.. Provides leadership to large scale projects with significant business impact involving cross-functional teams. Develops plans and leadership implementation strategies aimed at building organizational performance. Influences strategic direction, develops tactical plans and completes complex assignments to support frontline to executive leadership development strategy. Extensive contact with internal customers, including senior management, and vendors is required to identify, research, analyze, and resolve complex issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assesses, recommends, creates, and implements leadership development processes, tools, resources, and solutions and/or organization development interventions based on strategic or tactical business plans.

  • Partners with outside consultants, manages relationships with vendors and delivers practical, impactful and cost-effective programs.

  • Uses extensive program and project management skills to manage multiple cohorts of leadership programs to set practical timelines, manage communication plans and ensure the program meets its objectives.

  • Enhance the caliber of leadership at all levels of the organization through development initiatives and coaching.

  • Utilizes expert facilitation knowledge and skills in designing, reviewing, and facilitating leadership and professional development programs for frontline to senior levels across the organization.

  • Acts as an organizational coach providing coaching and mentoring to mid – senior level leaders across the firm.

  • Provides participants with an overview of the leadership assessment and development processes and conducts group or one-on-one feedback sessions to debrief participants on the results and coach leaders to develop their skills and achieve organizational performance standards.

  • Leads the creation and support of comprehensive development program solutions for leaders at all levels and high potential audiences.

  • Stays abreast of latest developments in management, leadership, and organizational development areas to serve as subject matter expert and consult to organization regarding critical people issues.

  • Prepares and delivers written and verbal presentations and proposals to management.

  • Delivers or partners with high quality vendors to provide leadership development courses and workshops in alignment with the organization’s goals.

  • Provides input to the strategic development of talent management processes.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Extensive Knowledge of

  • Leadership Development research and adult learning theory..

  • Development solutions (e.g., coaching, 360 feedback, development plan creation, competency design, development program design).

  • Advanced facilitation and coaching skills and techniques.

  • Project management and business process improvement.

  • Financial Services Industry preferred.

Skill in:

  • Facilitating leadership development programs and processes (advanced facilitation skills).

  • Coaching to assist leaders and associates in reaching their full potential.

  • Consulting to assess, recommend, and implement talent management solutions that align with the business objectives.

  • Designing and developing needs analysis, learning program design, analysis, evaluation and impact.

  • Applying talent management strategies that are effective and relevant to the business.

  • Communicating effectively and tactfully with all levels of management.

  • Developing effective relationships with business partners and human resources partners.

  • Influencing others and outcomes.

  • Adapting to and leading organizational change.

  • Preparing and delivering written and verbal presentations and proposals.

  • Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project Planning skills

  • Managing the development and planning of large-scale organizational effectiveness initiatives and managing projects from inception to implementation.

Ability to:

  • Manage multiple priorities, organize project plans, and multitask.

  • Build relationships and interact with all levels of management and associates.

  • Think conceptually and strategically, while maintaining a cost-conscious and practical approach to using time and resources.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of five (5) years in talent management or related field.

  • Advanced degree in Organizational Development, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, MBA, or other relevant field preferred.

  • 2-3 years of management or management consulting experience preferred

or

  • Minimum of nine (9) years experience in talent management or related field.

  • 3-5 years of management or management consulting experience preferred
