This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in office 2-3 days a week at one of the following Corporate office locations: St. Petersburg, FL or Denver, CO

Job Summary:

Acts as a partner with the business to facilitate and implement technology solutions for the Securities Movement project group in Enterprise Data Optimization. Responsible for writing system requirements that will ensure the technology solution will meet the needs of the business. Leverages appropriate technical resources. Requires a high-level understanding of systems, industry and end-user requirements. Demonstrates subject matter expertise and is able to integrate domain knowledge with an understanding of financial services standards and practices. Is the primary on the most complex or escalated issues and may provide direction and guidance team members. Applies specialized business knowledge and technical skills to significant deliverables and projects that involve multiple IT departments, business units and have enterprise impact. Is able to make judgments and recommendations based on the analysis and interpretation of data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Computer Science, MIS or related degree and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant development or engineering experience or combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Financial Services experience required.

  • The candidate must also be well-versed in financial terminology. The specific skill set should include at least one year of experience with Client, Account, Transaction and Position data and have a comprehensive knowledge of Financial Product Instruments, such as Equities, Bonds, and Mutual Funds etc. Brokerage experience is the preferred knowledge; Banking and Insurance knowledge is beneficial but not as important.

  • This position will gather requirements around client, account transaction and position data, including both simple and complex calculation formulas for items such as balances, performance rate of returns or yields.

  • Advanced level knowledge of Project/team-specific development languages and Project/team-specific development skills.

  • Deep analysis skills to ensure all potential and future consumers requirements are accounted for in enterprise-level database builds.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into functional and non-functional requirements supported by web and Java enterprise services.

  • Creates detailed business requirements for functional (e.g., business processes, rules) and non-functional (e.g., data, security) capabilities.

  • Gathers and interprets information from multiple sources (including databases, interviews, etc.).

  • Coordinates and manages documentation for multiple streams of content and business requirement areas.

  • Performs analysis to detail functional specs which are consumed by developers.

  • Translates technical concepts to business audience and business information to a technical audience.

  • Participates in developing estimates and implementation plans for technical solutions.

  • Test case validation to ensure that scripts will evaluate the business function being performed.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of the full SDLC experience with an agile methodology.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Tools to include but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Visio.

  • Team Foundation Server (TFS) experience required.

  • Proficiency in both Microsoft or Oracle SQL queries is also required.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) preferred and/or other Series licenses
