Davidson USVI LLC Dual Director of Housekeeping in St Thomas, Virgin Islands

SUMMARY The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing the success of all functions in the Housekeeping and Laundry areas including supervising the cleanliness of guest rooms and all hotel areas including lobbies, public areas, bathrooms, guest floors, and bar/restaurant. Also manages guest request services, schedules, payroll, ordering supplies and maintaining inventories, managing department within budget, and leading safety program. Other functions include; selecting, training and developing Team Members and attending in house group meetings. *QUALIFICATIONS * - Degree in Hotel Management or equivalent experience. - Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees. - 2+ years prior housekeeping management experience. - Read, write and speak English fluently. - The ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful. - Knowledge of inventories, scheduling, and productivity. - High school math level required. - No employee will pose a direct threat to the health/safety of self or others. *PERFORMANCE STANDARDS * - CUSTOMER SERVICE: Deliver the best service, quality and value to every customer, every time. Maintain customer satisfaction as the driving philosophy of the Housekeeping department. Personally demonstrate a commitment to customer service by responding promptly to guest needs. Empower Housekeeping staff to deliver customer service by encouraging and rewarding responsive guest assistance. - FINANCIAL: Manage department within budget. Accurately forecast expenses. Prepare annual departmental budget that accurately reflects the departments operations plan. Analyze financial and operating information on an ongoing basis in order to adjust labor, supplies, materials and other costs to achieve budget. Ensure department staff is trained in control procedures as outlined by Internal Audit, and that these procedures are consistently followed. - PEOPLE: Manage people according to Davidsons values. Manage human resources functions including recruiting, selection, orientation, training, performance reviews, pay and recognition programs to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce. Maintain a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and management. Emphasize training and development as a way of doing business in order to empower employees to successfully perform their jobs. Help to develop management talent by acting as a mentor for direct reports. Resolve employee grievances fairly and timely. Ensure employees fully understand performance standards, review process, and reward successes. Manage safety program to protect guests and employees and which meets OSHA requirements. Use ongoing safety plan to minimize workers compensation claims. - QUALITY: Maintain physical product standards by routinely inspecting rooms, public areas and laundry facilities to ensure proper working condition and departmental supplies are stocked at proper levels. Submit work orders to the maintenance department on a timely basis and follow up to ensure completion. Justify requests for capital projects using ROI. Manage security procedures such as key control and lost and found. *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Constantly . Monitors payroll hours and reports. Constantly .
