Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven North American Sales Manager to lead and manage a team of highly skilled Solutions Engineers in the regionlocatedin Stafford, TX. This role will focus on supporting the End User Sales team to deliver commercially attractive and technically viable solutions to end users for rotating equipment, particularly in centrifugal pump repair and upgrade solutions.
As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that your team has the resources and capabilities to meet corporate targets, drive growth, develop strong customer relationships, and increase market share. You will oversee technical activities such as on-site assessments, root cause analysis, and the development of standard and complex equipment repair and upgrade proposals. Additionally, you will manage pipeline generation, forecasting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to execute engineered solutions across diverse industries.
Essential Responsibilities
May include:
Team Leadership & Management :Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Solutions Engineers who focus on centrifugal pump repair, upgrade solutions, and complex engineered solutions. Ensure that the team has the necessary resources, skills, and training to meet performance targets and drive results.
Sales & Commercial Support :Collaborate closely with the End User Sales team to provide commercially attractive, technically sound solutions to customers. Guide Solutions Engineers in preparing solutions, support in generating proposals, delivering presentations, and engaging with customers to address their needs and provide technical clarifications and support. Lead pipeline generation and forecasting efforts to align with overall sales strategy and business objectives.
Technical Expertise & Application :Oversee and support technical activities such as root cause analysis, site/system assessments, and the provision of both standard and custom upgrade solutions. Ensure Solutions Engineers communicate complex technical details effectively and deliver tailored, cost-effective solutions to meet customer requirements.
Customer Relationship Management :Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers, ensuring their technical and business needs are fully understood and addressed. Collaborate with the End User Sales team to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty, ensuring solutions align with both customer objectives and business goals.
Training & Development :Provide training for the End User Sales team and Solutions Engineers on product applications, technical capabilities, solutions development and justification. Enhance the team's expertise to effectively handle complex technical inquiries and present compelling solutions to customers.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :Work closely with internal teams including End User Sales, Aftermarket Engineering, Aftermarket Operations, Application Engineering, Project Management, and Customer Support teams. Ensure seamless solution delivery and project execution to meet customer expectations and business objectives.
Market & Product Development :Provide insights into market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape. Contribute to the development of new products and solutions that address emerging customer demands and expand market opportunities.
Performance Tracking & Reporting :Set performance goals for the team, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular updates and visibility to leadership on team performance and sales progress. Utilize performance data to adjust strategies and improve team effectiveness in meeting business objectives.
Position Requirements
Knowledge & Skills
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a customer-first approach.

Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience
8+ years of experience in a technical sales leadership role within engineered solutions or the rotating equipment sector, with a focus on centrifugal pumps, pump repair, or upgrades.
Competencies
Strong understanding of centrifugal pump technology, its applications, and failure modes in industrial environments.
Proven ability to manage and mentor technical teams to drive sales and support business objectives.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance technical solutions with financial considerations to deliver competitive, profitable solutions.
Proven track record of working cross-functionally with sales, engineering, operations, and project management teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. Advanced certifications or an MBA are a plus
Travel
Ability to travel frequently across North America (estimated 50% travel).
