Saint Josephs College of Maine is hiring for the full-time position ofEVENTS MANAGER!\ \ POSITION DESCRIPTION:This position will support the Conference and Events Division by providing coordinated oversight of external Stone Barn events during the wedding events season (May-November) and limited on-campus internal events in the off-season (November-May); serving as an ambassador of the Stone Barn events program and Events department on-campus events to ensure the success of events; serving as primary administrator of the events software; and effectively manage Event employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Provides coordinated oversight of Stone Barn events by:

? Managing event timelines developed autonomously and in coordination with Director, packing sheets, setup and breakdown plans, and floorplans

? Providing on-sight and logistical coordination (procurement, delivery, and billing) with internal and external events contacts

? Overseeing set up and breakdown, opening and closing of facilities prior to and after each event

? Coordinating with food service to ensure appropriate menu, setup, and staffing is available for catered events

Serves as an ambassador of the Stone Barn events program and Events department on campus events to ensure the success of events by:

? Coordinating and overseeing assigned events and Stone Barnbusiness after booking as well as through the completion of the eventor function, while achieving profitable margins, offering high qualityfood and beverage options, and a positive customer experience

? Acting as a liaison between client, Director of Events, serviceproviders and events department team to ensure successful meetingsand events

? Maintaining proactive communications with all parties involved inevents

? Hosting walk-throughs and sales visits for both internal & externaldepartment events as assigned

? Maintaining knowledge and compliance with departmental policies,service procedures, and standards

? Cultivating corporate external peak season event business on the SJClakefront

\ MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

? Bachelors degree is preferred or equivalent experience in the hospitality, sales and or business

? Two or more years experience in a hospitality field with both administrative and service responsibilities required

? Possess a valid drivers license

\ SCHEDULE:

Weekly schedule requires some flexibility related to client appointments and events, however the primary schedule evolves around normal work week hours

Summer hours require more flexibility around the scheduled events

Availability during peak operating times (weekends, holidays and special events, as needed)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

? Strong knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Google Platform,Outlook, Excel and Web Access, online booking platforms a plus

? Strong communication skills both verbal and written in a sales environment

? Ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, students and clients

? Demonstrated organization and time management skills, including the ability toeffectively prioritize tasks

? Must demonstrate teamwork skills and an willingness to help others

? Possess a positive attitude to foster a cohesive working environment
