Stanford University School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciencesseeksan HR Programs Manager whois passionate about driving HR initiatives that enable and sustain inclusive and engaging work experiences.Reporting to the Director of HR Strategy and Operations, you will work collaboratively alongside a dynamic HR team to leadnew and existing HR programs in equity and inclusion, rewards and recognition, onboarding and process integration, learning and development, and other initiatives to support and engage a distributed workforce. The Associate Chair for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) will additionally look to you for administrative, planning, and program coordination support for the department’s DEI-Advisory Committee. The incumbent will leverage their analytical abilities in the development of staff surveys, the evaluation of workforce data, and the assessment of HR programs to aid in making strategic recommendations that will enhance the employee experience.

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences has a great tradition of fundamental science, translational and clinical research, subspecialty expertise, multidisciplinary education, and influential leadership. The overarching aim of creating a better future is predicated on our shared pursuit of discovery across the basic, translational, clinical, and population sciences and on our collaborative efforts to translate new knowledge in our training of scientists and expert clinicians, in supporting the careers of outstanding faculty and learners, and in addressing the needs of communities, local and global. Duties include:

  • Independently implement, administer and evaluate day-to-day activities of the unit, function or program by identifying and executing tasks and objectives, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and assigning resources to achieve the goals of the program.

  • Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.

  • Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise and implement procedures for program or function.

  • Represent the program or function as the key contact and subject matter expert within the department, unit or school. Commit resources and provide information and/or training. May also represent the program or function to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.

  • Organize and/or participate in outreach activities that may include developing communications and training, planning/promoting events and/or conferences.

  • May participate in development of budgets, monitor, and approve expenditures. May perform limited forecasting and provide recommendations that determine the budget.

  • May direct staff to perform various tasks and assignments. May also supervise staff

REMOTE ELIGIBLE:

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University hasfive Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.

The expected pay range for this position is $62,000 to $120,000 per year.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional organizational skills with experience managing projects and programs

  • Effective interpersonal skills with ability to engage diverse audiences

  • Strong oral and written communication skills to aid in developing messages and materials on behalf of the department

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make recommendations

  • Experience leading small teams formally or on a project basis

  • Comfortable leveraging technology to improve work processes (Smartsheet experience a plus)

  • Comfortable working in a distributed, remote, and/or hybrid work environment

  • Experience in higher education, academic medicine, or related industry preferred

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.

  • Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.

  • Occasionally use a telephone.

  • Rarely lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.
