About the Unit/Department/Team The inpatient pharmacy team works to fulfil the medication therapy needs for all of the inpatients and outpatients of Lakewood Health System, including comprehensive chemotherapy preparation. Mission for Position The mission of the hospital pharmacy technician is to provide quality medication therapy for the inpatients and outpatients we serve. Duties & Responsibilities OR Position Summary The Quality and Compliance Complete monthly inspections of medication storage areas, documenting findings, and replacing any outdated or unusable items. Adhere to quality standards by collecting data, conducting quality monitoring, and maintaining accurate documentation as required. Manage logs, records, and all required documentation to ensure regulatory and procedural compliance. Inventory Control and Medication Preparation Restock medication and IV dispensing areas within specified timeframes, accurately and safely repackage bulk medications into unit-dose packages as needed. Assist with ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing of medications and supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained and organized efficiently. Prepare sterile medications, including intravenous admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition, adhering to safety and accuracy protocols. Competency and Development Maintain current technician certification and complete all competency assessments and skills evaluations. Attend staff meetings and participate in continuing education, staying informed on the latest procedures and standards in pharmacy operations. Position Type The position is a full-time position that works a variety of day shifts with rotating weekends and holidays. Qualifications Registered/qualified to be registered as a pharmacy technician by the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy. Lakewood Hospital Pharmacy is willing to train the right candidate for the position.
