Robert Half HR Generalist in State College, Pennsylvania

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a HR Generalist. As the HR Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in managing various human resource functions. Your job will be instrumental in maintaining work culture, ensuring legal compliance, and fostering healthy employee relations.

Responsibilities:

• Implement, maintain, and improve Quality and HSE systems

• Conduct annual HSE Training and Fire/Tornado drills

• Create and maintain job descriptions

• Act as EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) Coordinator for the facility

• Manage all aspects of recruiting, from advertising to extending offers of employment

• Manage Workers Compensation and Unemployment claims

• Attend Job Fairs and coordinate co-op opportunities

• Administer wage/salary and benefits programs

• Conduct communications throughout the organization and provide guidance on difficult issues

• Ensure all employees are aware of our code of conduct, operating principles, and core values

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a HR Generalist role or similar

• Proficient in using SAP software

• Experience with labor and employee relations

• Ability to develop and rewrite job descriptions

• Familiarity with unemployment claims and workers compensation procedures

• Experience in managing employee benefit programs

• Knowledge and understanding of benefit functions

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Demonstrable problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred

• Certification in Human Resources (such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills

• Knowledge of employment laws and best practices

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and a high level of trust.
