Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania is a non-profit organization providing programs and services to individuals with and without disabilities.

Our Child Development Center is looking to hire several part-time Classroom Aides *to assist with our daily educational programming. The hours are daylight, and the *rate of pay is $13.00 an hour. Our staff is a caring and closely knit group. Please consider joining our team!

QUALIFICATIONS-CLASSROOM AIDE

• High school diploma, or G.E.D. required.
• Prior experience working with children preferred.
• Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Acceptable Criminal Record, Child Abuse and Department of Human Services FBI Clearances required.
• Acceptable National Sex Offender Clearance required.
• Passing of physical examination and TB required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES-CLASSROOM AIDE

• Assist teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities.
• Assist students with tasks/activities to present or reinforce learning concepts.
• Assist students with managing all parts of the program day including transitions (between activities, from parents, lining up, etc.) meals, toileting/diapering & washing hands, structured activities (circle time, small group, etc.) behavioral expectations (following classroom rules, individualized behavior plan, etc.) play and appropriate use of materials and equipment, clean-up and nap/rest time.
• Provide lunchtime coverage in various classrooms for staff during the break times.
• Provide before and/or after school daycare coverage as dictated by schedule.

HOURS/BENEFITS-CLASSROOM AIDE

The Classroom Aide is a part-time temporary position and may work between the hours of 8am and 5:30 as assigned. The hourly rate is $13. All employees are eligible for our Employee Assistance Program.
