Job Description

EnergyUnited is currently seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join their innovative team. This role will be pivotal in managing cloud solutions that enhance EnergyUnited's infrastructure and service delivery.

What Would You Do?

  • Work with the Manager to identify projects and schedules for the improvement of IT infrastructure.

  • Provide engagement with EnergyUnited community to enhance the user experience.

  • Assist with implementation, maintaining, and execution of enterprise-wide security measures.

  • Assist in providing enterprise infrastructure guidance and direction to team members. Encourage their development.

  • Review enterprise infrastructure requirements, make improvement recommendations, and ensure enterprise systems installations receive ongoing maintenance including security patches.

  • Assist with the design, creation, and maintenance of an inventory for enterprise hardware/software and assist in disaster recovery planning and execution.

  • Perform operating system and core software installations and upgrades.

  • Keep current with technology trends and maintain skill set to implement new technology.

  • Work with technology vendors on hardware and software issues. Work with representatives of various departments in assessing departmental needs, evaluating new IT projects, enhancing efficiencies and re-engineering system processes.

  • Enforce all copyright laws as stated in software license and EU Electronic media policies.

  • Maintenance and support of the core systems infrastructure.

  • Provide input for maintenance and support of the Cooperative’s telecommunication network.

  • Assist end users with the implementation of new equipment within the department and procedures related to the use of the new hardware or software applications.

  • Keep abreast of current cloud and on-premises technologies and offer recommendations on updated technology.

Skills & Requirements

What Do You Need?

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT or related field. Experience and/or industry-recognized certifications may be considered in lieu of education. AZ-900 (Azure Fundamentals) Certification Required with AZ-104 (Azure Administrator) certification preferred.

  • Must have 5-10 years of experience working in an IT role supporting enterprise-class infrastructure and assisting users. Experience with telecommunications including cloud-based call routing systems and Microsoft Teams.

  • Advanced knowledge of software and cloud technologies including O365, M365, and Azure.

  • Advanced knowledge of networking technologies including routing, switching, firewall configuration, IPS/IDS, and 802.11x wireless in a multisite intranet installation.

  • Advanced knowledge of VDI and hyper-converged technologies, and cybersecurity concepts.

  • Advanced knowledge of physical and virtualized systems utilizing VMWare

  • Working knowledge of PC applications including O365 products, MS Project, Visio, MS SQL, and Windows server and client platforms.

  • Advanced knowledge of P2V migration strategy and execution involving Microsoft Azure

  • CiscoPrime, Solarwinds, and other network monitoring and management tools.

  • Advanced experience with on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra, Group Policy, Microsoft Server and Client operating systems.

  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.

  • Maintain and improve our IT knowledgebase for your areas of responsibility according to the predefined standard.

More About This Position:

  • Normal working conditions and hours of 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Some irregular working hours may be required. Must be available for work during adverse weather conditions.

  • This position is categorized as Hybrid, which is a work arrangement that allows an employee to perform work and duties associated with this position at both an EnergyUnited Office location and their home.

  • All employees assigned to headquarters must live or be willing to relocate within one of the nineteen counties served by the Cooperative or within 40 miles from any EnergyUnited office.
