Summary You will serve as Deputy Director of Operations (N3B), Supervisory Interdisciplinary Physical Scientist/Oceanographer in the Operations Department of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS. Responsibilities You will develop plans, schedules, policies, and directs all aspects of NAVOCEANO operations. You will manage personnel and equipment in the conduct of NAVOCEANO operations. You will plan, implement, coordinate, and manage the operations and activities of the Department. You will implement EEO policies and communicate these policies to Department personnel. You will provide technical and administrative advice regarding all phases of the programs addressed by the Department. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing systems and platforms to plan and execute unique or special surveys. Experience in oceanography-related disciplines such as acoustics, bathymetry, hydrography, geology, geophysics, etc. Experience analyzing strategic plans, formulate and implement organizational policies and procedures. Experience promoting cooperation and exchanging information and ideas among organizations. OR A combination of education and experience with education equivalent to one of the majors shown above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. 1360: Successful completion of a degree with a major study of at least 24 semester hours in oceanography or a related discipline such as physics, meteorology, geophysics, mathematics, chemistry, engineering, geology, or biology, plus 20 additional semester hours in any combination of oceanography, physics, geophysics, chemistry, mathematics, meteorology, computer science, and engineering sciences. OR A combination of education and experience which includes course work in oceanography or a related discipline such as physics, meteorology, geophysics, mathematics, chemistry, engineering, geology, or biology, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
