Job Description

The Director of Development, Annual Fund will oversee all aspects of the Texan Club and help create a strategic plan for philanthropic growth in athletics development. This role is focused on growing participation in the Texan Club, executing the department’s various events throughout the year, and building a sustainable annual fund operation. The position can expect to be forward facing as a key point of contact for several of the Texan Club’s donors and colleagues throughout campus. Still in its first full year as a NCAA Division I member, Tarleton State Athletics and the Texan Club are focused on expanding our donor base and creating an innovative new structure that fosters a culture of philanthropy. This exciting point in time at Tarleton State Athletics provides unprecedented opportunities for building and growth. This position will report to the Sr. Associate AD for Revenue Generation.

Position is in-office; located on the main Tarleton campus in Stephenville, Texas with work hours of Monday to Friday, from 8AM to 5PM or as work requirements indicate; which may include afterhours, weekends, and some holidays.

Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University.

Summary of Responsibilities Include:

Fundraising and Annual Fund

  • Collaborate with the Sr. Assoc. AD for Revenue Generation to develop and pursue ongoing fundraising initiatives and plans.

  • Create and carry out the Texan Club annual fund’s strategic plan including timeline, renewals, membership, benefit fulfillment, database maintenance, donor communications and more.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with donors, alumni and other supporters of Tarleton State athletics to directly solicit annual fund gifts and grow the Texan Club.

  • Manage the donor renewal and stewardship processes.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Ticket Sales to build and execute strategic plans around growing the Texan Club through season ticket sales and premium seating.

  • Works closely with pertinent university partners such as Institutional Advancement, among others .

Events and Hospitality

  • Lead the planning and coordination of all Texan Club events such as game day hospitality, the annual Plowboy golf tournament, stewardship events, and various others throughout the year.

Communications

  • Create written and physical communication materials to promote the Texan Club; to include member guides, pamphlets, promotional materials, donor emails, etc.

  • Work collaboratively with members of the athletics external relations team to drive Texan Club initiatives forward.

  • Manage website maintenance and oversee Texan Club social media communications.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Associate AD for Revenue Generation.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Four years related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Willingness and ability to travel.

  • Knowledge of database and spreadsheet applications.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

  • Ability to maintain a thorough knowledge of, and adhere to, all University, Association, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulation.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree.

  • Experience in a development position or a related external athletics field.

  • Intercollegiate athletics development experience.

Compensation & Benefits:

Commensurate with experience.

The target base annual salary range is commensurate and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
