Position Description: Attend Kick-off meetings for new projects/programs representing Design Service's interest. Evaluate the scope of work and functional / detailed estimates, required to prepare, and submit formal cost estimates to the customer. Prepare schedules and budgetary guidelines for each work activity in accordance with the current and future manpower plans. Develop and implement metrics associated with ISO processes and initiatives, to ensure that continuous improvement is obtained through the current Quality process. Support the WSA process and engage the workforce into a team base self-directed environment. Select, develop, and manage Bargaining Unit/Non-Bargaining Unit (BU/NBU) personnel inclusive of performance, training, growth, and retention. Coordinate manpower requirements for the daily work assignments, performance, schedule, technical issues, summaries, and presentations related to all Design Services personnel. Manage assigned activities within Design Services so that technical, cost, and schedule objectives are successfully met. Manage related departmental administrative matters and participate in related teams as required. Interface, via written and oral communications, with various customer and government on technical, cost, and financial issues. Continually analyze current processes and software to identify opportunities for improved performance. Strong background in vehicle design and integration required inclusive of a strong working knowledge of design software such as CREO, Teamcenter and NX The manager is responsible to staff programs and projects accordingly. Develop succession plans, critical skill development plans, design guideline creation etc. Train/enforce ISO compliance to applicable areas. Manage multiple budgets, indirect $, capital expenses, etc. Manage employee vacation, sick time, personal time, travel expenses etc. as required. Position Requirements: Minimum of 7+ years of related experiencee A Bachelors degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline is preferred. Applicable and extensive experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Experience working with Bargaining Unit (BU) environment/employees.
