Global Technology, Inc. Mechanical Engineer in Sterling Heights, Michigan
- Development of aluminum chassis and assemblies components between U.S. (or local) engineering team, offshore engineering team, and customers' local automotive development teams.
- Work on all phases of product development related to aluminum chassis components and assemblies.
- Coordinate part development from concept to launch.
- Develop, maintain, present program timing, open issues and meeting notes.
- Understand and communicate standard engineering and program management tasks, OEM specifications, DFMEA, PFMEA, and control plans with other departments and customers.
- Understand and communicate design standards with other departments and customers.
- Conduct drawing reviews, and discuss and resolve design issues.
- Analyze FEA reports and functional testing against performance criteria, determine and resolve issues with design teams.
- Clarify OEM specifications and requirements to manufacturing site.
- Develop 2D and layout drawings for customer database submission.
- Attend plant launches and assess quality issues.
- Develop and coordinate root cause analysis andcorrective action plans.
- Implement design or process improvements.
- Assist with quality audits and sorting.
