Global Technology, Inc. Mechanical Engineer in Sterling Heights, Michigan

  • Development of aluminum chassis and assemblies components between U.S. (or local) engineering team, offshore engineering team, and customers' local automotive development teams.
  • Work on all phases of product development related to aluminum chassis components and assemblies.
  • Coordinate part development from concept to launch.
  • Develop, maintain, present program timing, open issues and meeting notes.
  • Understand and communicate standard engineering and program management tasks, OEM specifications, DFMEA, PFMEA, and control plans with other departments and customers.
  • Understand and communicate design standards with other departments and customers.
  • Conduct drawing reviews, and discuss and resolve design issues.
  • Analyze FEA reports and functional testing against performance criteria, determine and resolve issues with design teams.
  • Clarify OEM specifications and requirements to manufacturing site.
  • Develop 2D and layout drawings for customer database submission.
  • Attend plant launches and assess quality issues.
  • Develop and coordinate root cause analysis andcorrective action plans.
  • Implement design or process improvements.
  • Assist with quality audits and sorting.
