Are you up for the challenge of matching the latest cutting edge Information Technologies with challenging national security missions? The Intelligence & Security Sector is seeking a Solution Architect responsible for Enterprise Information Technology (IT) vision, leadership, and program support across existing programs and new bids. This is a Director-level position reporting to the Office of the Chief Technology Officer for the Sector, and plays a key role in transforming our organization to meet the ever-changing needs of defense, intelligence, and federal sector customers.
The Solution Architect (SA) serves as a core technical subject matter expert in architecture, integration, operation, and sustainment of enterprise IT systems including both on-premises infrastructure (networks, computing, storage, desktops) cloud-deployed systems (including hybrid cloud and multi-cloud), and edge systems (mobile devices and tactical compute) for pursuits and programs across the Federal Defense, Intelligence, and Civil markets. Required work will include both unclassified and classified IT systems. The SA is a member of a team of technical experts and is given opportunities to lead and grow. The SA develops technical solutions in response to Government requests for information, market surveys, and requests for proposal. The SA leads development of technical solutions and must be familiar with and contribute to management, staffing, schedule, and cost components of the solutions.
The SA builds and maintains deep technical expertise, as well as developing and describing winning solutions. The SA participates in early phase marketing, such as concept development, white paper generation, and directed research, and may direct research or intern teams to develop or enhance key capabilities enabling expansion into new lines of business.
Duties and Responsibilities include leading and developing:
I&S sector strategy and templates for IT architecture, integration, operation, and sustainment
Mature and coherent approach for enterprise IT solutions
Tailoring enterprise IT solutions for programs and bids
Supporting immediate pursuits
Introducing innovation to current programs
Advising IT engineering teams developing architectures and integration approaches
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Typical Education and Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience with large and small IT engineering teams. With a Master s Degree 10 years of experience.
Required Skills and Education
Bachelor Degree in appropriate discipline (e.g. Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering) and a minimum of 12 years of experience, including 5 years of IT engineering experience.
OR
Master s Degree in appropriate discipline and a minimum of 10 years of experience, including 5 years of IT engineering experience.
Required Experience Skills:
Experience supporting enterprise IT efforts, leading a diverse team of technical and operational specialists, and involving the development of novel or innovative new solutions.
Knowledge of principles, current industry and government standards, and state of the art technologies for networking, storage, processing, and cloud systems, including multi-cloud
Knowledge of standard practices for operation and sustainment of on-prem, cloud, and hybrid enterprise IT including help desk operations
Experience with ITILv3 and ITILv4 processes and solutions
5 years of experience with Government proposals including technical solution development
Demonstrated ability to decompose complex system and software requirements into easy to understand solutions with clear value propositions.
Knowledge of security engineering, cybersecurity, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes
Demonstrated experience developing successful Enterprise Architectures and IT solutions.
Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively at the most senior levels of government (customer) or corporate management (company) to articulate the understanding of their mission needs and requirements, and to communicate the value and benefit of BAE Systems solutions.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Preferred Skills and Education
Demonstrated ability to lead and win complex opportunities with the Federal Government. Should have led winning proposals with total contract value on individual deals over $75M.
Experience with application and data migration from on-prem to cloud deployments
Knowledge of software development, containerization, and automated DevSecOps pipeline tools
Knowledge of system development methodologies including requirement engineering, configuration management, technical baseline management, cost estimating and analysis, and decision support methodologies
Knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies, including scope, cost and schedule, and resource management, including Earned Value Management
Experience collaborating across organizations and OEMs, participating in industry forums and conferences, writing and presenting technical papers
AWS Certified Associate Architect, Developer or SysOps Administrator
Microsoft Certified System Administrator in Cloud Platform or related certification
Agile Certified

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
