JOB REQUIREMENTS: UW JOB ID 20692 Anticipated Appointment Date: May 2024 Position Title: Paper Making & Lab Specialist TTC Title and Code: Research Specialist (RE047) FTE: 100% Principal Work Location: UW-Stevens Point Main Campus Supervisor: Outreach Program Associate Director Position Summary This hands-on laboratory and pilot-plant based position will implement the development and testing of innovative papermaking processes and products particularly in the areas of specialty paper, sustainable packaging, repulp ability and recyclability, and wood fiber diversification. Significant laboratory experience, specifically in papermaking or a closely related area. Understanding of papermaking processes, materials, and equipment. Knowledge of the latest developments in paper science and ability to apply innovative approaches to solve complex problems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with pilot-scale papermaking machinery. Knowledge of the forest products industry in Wisconsin. Knowledge of current sustainability practices in the forest products, paper, packaging, and fiber industries.
