Description

The Aluminum Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the construction of aluminum boat hulls and related components in a boat manufacturing facility. This individual will assist with planning, organizing and setting up the shop to ensure efficient production of high-quality aluminum boats. The manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the aluminum shop, including production schedules, material ordering, quality control, and employee supervision.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and coordinating the construction of aluminum boat hulls and related components according to production schedules and quality standards
• Ensuring all safety protocols are followed
• Create requisitions for materials and supplies needed for production
• Supervising and training employees in the aluminum shop
• Assist in conducting quality control inspections on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications
• Implementing and maintaining efficient production processes to ensure timely delivery of products
• Communicating with other departments to coordinate production workflows
• Troubleshooting any production issues that arise and implementing solutions
• Planning and organizing work schedules to meet production goals
• Manage certifications for welding team

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have AWS Aluminum welding certification and experience in aluminum boat construction, strong leadership and communication skills, and a thorough understanding of production processes. They should also have strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is typically required.
