Clinical Assistant & Special Test Supervisor will provide direct support and leadership to the department while working closely with the Ophthalmic Education & Clinical Assistant Manager. This position creates an environment where the highest standards of patient care are achieved by ensuring exceptional quality of care and maximizing efficiency and productivity within the ophthalmic scribe and special testing departments Clinical Assistant & Special Test Supervisor Essential Functions Assists with special testing equipment maintenance at each site as assigned Coordinates with the Ophthalmic Education & Clinical Assistant Manager for accuracy of scribe services rendered in accordance with the health system's coding and compliance guidelines Increases the efficiency and productivity for the providers by optimizing workflows Participates in trainings and meets requirements for HIPAA compliance and Protected Health Information (PHI) Open and willing to try new workflows and ideas; provide encouragement for the provider to try new workflows and ideas Complete audits on special testing equipment for billing purposes Complete audits on Nextgen Clinical Assistant documentation and develops workflows for consistency Works with specialty providers to establish standard work documents Trains and audits remote scribe work Continually improves accountability and competency levels with the ophthalmic scribes Participates in continuous quality improvement and educational support of departmental philosophy and objectives Establish and maintain common procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with practice standards of quality patient care Supervisor Essential Functions Provides clinic coverage within the clinical operations team as needed Ensures consistency within the team Recognizes and acts upon opportunities for continuous improvement Creates a positive work environment Possesses a commitment to quality and excellence Individual is also responsible for upholding AEC s commitment to world class patient experience and high quality at a great value Responsible for ongoing professional self-development Other Essential Functions Must be willing and able to work a variety of hours and work in various locations as needed.
