We are seeking a skilled Maintenance worker to join our team.\ \ This candidate must be willing to perform basic preventative maintenance duties, such as thoroughly inspecting and analyzing the condition of all the building and installed mechanical /electrical equipment that is maintained by our department. Some of these items that we look for are signs of wear, fatigue, displacement or looseness, breakage and any conditions which may become hazardous or cause breakdown of the facilities or equipment.\ \ This candidate will be inspecting all types of equipment and facilities for defective conditions, including electric motors, drive trains, fans, refrigeration equipment, air compressors, vacuum pumps, heat exchangers, filtration systems, water, chemical pumps, pneumatic and electrical control systems, hardware, doors, hinges, plumbing, water, steam leaks, housings, ducts, and plenums. They will look for and report both definite and probable safety hazards, that include, electrical hazards, slipping and tripping hazards, poor lighting, poorly or improperly designed guards, burn hazards, hazardous walkways, loose or weak railings, and bump hazards. This candidate will also be examining equipment and structures for energy waste, which includes equipment that should be deleted, missing or inadequate insulation, dirty or partially clogged filters, heating/cooling coils, holes or opening in structures and ducting, improperly set or operating dampers and louvers, unnecessary or improper lighting. This position does Department of Labor inspections for water heaters. Inspect/Repair and perform preventative maintenance on all mechanical/electrical equipment includingHVACsystems, boiler systems, sump pumps etc.\ \ You may be asked to assist with other duties related to operations, maintenance, and renovations to buildings and equipment, such as light-duty carpentry, painting, electrical, and other miscellaneous repair and maintenance activities, and respond to emergency and urgent work.\ \ This position regularly stands, lifts, bends, stoops, lifts above shoulders, and carries 50 lbs or more.\ \ This position involves regular exposure to disagreeable conditions, extreme temperature changes, odors, and loud noises.\ \ The candidate must be able to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond at any time of the day or night when scheduled by management, regardless of weather conditions. Some irregular and extra hours as needed for projects and emergencies. Emergencies frequently involve difficult working conditions.
