Summary/Objective: The Lead Teller performs normal Customer Service Representative (CSR) duties on a daily basis and assists in the training of CSRs on all aspects of branch operations. This position models exceptional customer service and provides basic information through counter-based transactions. Identifies cross-sell opportunities and refers customer to appropriate team member. In the absence of the Retail Manager, responsible for the efficient operations of the teller line and compliance with federal and state regulations as well as bank policies and procedures.The required hours are Monday Friday from 7:15 am to 4:00 pm and two Saturdays per month from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

  • Greets customers and facilitates a welcoming and customer-focused environment.
  • Processes routine customer transactions and assists other CSRs with questions and more complex transactions. Assists CSRs in locating cash discrepancies, unusual window transactions, and answers difficult customer questions.
  • Generates new business through referrals and suggestions of bank products and services that would benefit each customer. Demonstrates how to most effectively identify these opportunities with the customers they service.
  • Provides on-the-job training for CSRs as needed to ensure procedures are understood and executed properly to adhere to internal controls.
  • Responds to customer inquiries and concerns and creating positive solutions.
  • Maintains money shipment vault cash and accepts cash from teller operations personnel. Balances the vault daily and maintains cash limits. Upholds the standard for managing the vault and assists with training CSRs on vault duties as necessary.
  • Complies with all regulatory requirements and ensures that appropriate documentation is completed.
  • Follows bank policies and procedures.
  • Attends training as required by Exchange Bank as well as support the overall compliance program by complying with all laws, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other relevant duties as assigned.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
