Description

The Department of Psychology at Stony Brook University (SBU) invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in clinical psychology.

Candidates in all areas of clinical psychology will be considered. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or a related field by the time of appointment. Preference will be given to applicants who have a record of high quality research and evidence of or potential for funding in any clinical-psychology related area. They should be able to teach and mentor students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, including supervising graduate students in clinical practica at the department's training clinic. We will also consider how applicants' work complements existing strengths in the clinical program and other areas of the department.

The Psychology Department at SBU encompasses doctoral programs in Clinical Psychology, Cognitive Science, Integrative Neuroscience, and Social and Health Psychology (http://www.stonybrook.edu/commcms/psychology/). Faculty members in the area and department are highly collaborative, and have a history of productive collaborations with numerous other departments on campus, including the Department of Psychiatry in our academic medical center and the Institute for Advanced Computational Science.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
A PhD (or foreign equivalent) degree in Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
A record of publication(s) relevant to the application and development of quantitative methods to the study of human behavior. Evidence of funding or potential for funding. Ability/potential to teach and mentor students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, including supervising graduate students in clinical practica at the department's training clinic.
