Maintenance Technician - Electrical/Mechanical
SHIFT: 12/HR Nights
SUMMARY: Maintenance Technicians are responsible for electrical and mechanical systems in the facility, which will include daily troubleshooting and routine maintenance activities. They are expected to troubleshoot and repair equipment problems that affect productivity of the manufacturing group as well as plant facilities and subsystems. They will be involved with process improvements providing input in production problem solving.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Work with our computerized maintenance system to track work orders and preventive maintenance.
PLC activities in the plant to include reading programs and troubleshooting.
Troubleshoot and repair the following:
Various types of AC/DC Drives to include Rockwell, Siemens,Parker SSD
Mechanical systems including bearings, gear drives, chain drives, etc.
Pneumatic and fluid systems such as compressed air and chilled water
110VAC – 480VAC electrical issues, which will include both single phase and three phase applications, motors, contactors, and transformers
Control voltage level electrical issues (24VDC), including sensors, Circuit boards, actuators, relays, etc.
Building systems, including, but not limited to, HVAC, lighting, security, and surrounding grounds.
Perform fabrication and welding assignments as assigned.
Perform electrical wiring and conduit installation.
Participate in training, embrace concepts of and actively practice the SPOT Safety Program fundamentals to aid American Packaging Corporation’s efforts to achieve a zero accident rate.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Training in National Electrical code, NFPA 79, Arc Flash, and AC/DC Motors, and basic PLC troubleshooting
Ability to install and troubleshoot control circuits and communication systems
Thorough knowledge of mechanical power transmission equipments
Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
Working knowledge of compressor systems and HVAC
Familiarity with all HMI systems in the facility with the ability to troubleshoot as necessary.
Ability to install and troubleshoot control circuits and communication systems
Proficient with hand and power tools (technician must provide their own hand tools in order to perform the job duties)
Ability to move materials and equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalent
2-3 years related experience from a manufacturing environment
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Working knowledge of PLC based systems and AC/DC drive systems
