Description Job Summary: Prepare aerospace parts for finishing. Essential Job Functions: General Duties around the shop floor to include but not limited to the following: Read and interpret NAP critical operation sheets, customer prints, and NAP work instructions. Determine proper fixtures, masking, etc. by following drawings and operation sheets. Use tape, plugs, caps, and liquid maskant; complete masking per critical operation sheets for all processes at NAP. After parts have been processed, demask product using a variety of tools and maintaining product integrity. Manage masking chemicals and solvents safely and in accordance with state and federal regulations. Prepare part surfaces by sanding, abrading, blasting, or washing as prescribed in shop paperwork. Maintain good housekeeping during all phases of production. Meet established safety, quality, and production standards. Complete operator maintenance per schedules Support production in multiple work assignments as needed Additional Duties: Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, companywide. Other duties, reporting, special assignments, or projects as needed and assigned. Must remain current with, and complete all required training as assigned. Must adhere to Company Corporate EHS Policy and department, occupation, and task specific safety protocols, including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. Qualifications: 1-3 years of prior experience in a production environment Extremely detail oriented. Must have fine motor skills to include: reaching, grasping and manipulating objects with your hands. Steady hand & finger skills, precise hand & finger dexterity, able to work with small parts and mask around unique geometries. Must be able to use fine-line brushes and touchup brushes. Must be able to use liquid maskant using syringes. Must be able to use abrading equipment and media including sandpaper, palm sanders, and blasters to abrade and clean part surfaces. Basic computer skills to navigate within a Windows environment. Physical requirements including: pulling, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, standing, sitting, and/or kneeling for long periods of time. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Must submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required for employment with the Company. Must take medical exams required by law, in conjunction with occupation specific activities, the physical work environment, and ongoing industrial hygiene sampling results. Depending on assignment, may be required to use stairs, remain upright and/or seated for prolonged timeframes, intermittently reposition the body per various tasks performed, and use various tools and work-related supplies. May be required to perform manual lifting activities, not to exceed a 40lb lift performed by one individual.
