Job Title: Packager $18+

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Packager for the 2nd shift, from 10am-6pm, Monday to Friday. You will be working in an industrial environment, with a focus on packaging steel plates and sheets to customer specifications. This role involves physical labor, operating machinery, and working as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Work in an industrial environment on your feet for the entire shift

• Package steel by banding large plates to customer specifications

• Learn and follow customer requirements for each order, including skidded wood runners, banding, and waterproof paper

• Collaborate with another packager to complete tasks

• Package 50-100 bundles of steel plates/sheets per day, each weighing 2,000-5,000 lbs

• Use plastic banding for 99% of packaging tasks

• Read work instructions and follow guidance from the team lead

• Operate a stacker machine, load coils, and make skids

• Use hand tools, nail guns, and staplers

• Operate an overhead crane and tow motor

Essential Skills

• Experience in packaging and steel manufacturing

• Ability to operate a forklift

• Ability to lift 50 lbs

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment

• Experience using hand tools

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a steel manufacturing environment

• Experience operating an overhead crane

• Experience in packaging steel

• Forklift experience

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00
