Laboratory Technician The Laboratory Technicians duties include inspecting and testing various materials to determine purity conformance to customer orders and specifications through mass spectrometry. In addition, accountability for properly recording, verifying, and reporting all these activities within the Engineering Coated Technologies (ECT) area. Responsibilities Prepare and test material samples; complete dispositions, data entries, reporting requirements and calibration of test equipment. Maintain and operate analytical laboratory instrumentation such as mass spectrometry. Implementing established procedures and evaluating the quality of analyses using established standards. Determination of acceptability of products or material based on adherence to specification and acquired job knowledge of acceptable standards. Verification/test incoming, in-process, and final product/material to established specifications. Proper identification of product or materials. Perform timely notification of non-conformances to appropriate personnel regarding product or material. Correct documentation and traceability of all non-conforming product or materials. Operation of testing equipment per the job-task-analysis'. Submit samples for outside testing, complete special request and maintain and complete test logs, SPC charts, repeatability studies and test data. Assist in writing, updating, and reviewing job-task-analysis'; perform data analysis. Ability to log results within SAP, generate reports and generate certifications. Responsibility for reporting maintenance requirements for equipment within area of responsibility. Responsibility for ordering chemicals or supplies. Complete Special Requests or additional duties, as needed. Basic Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience using mass spectrometry or similar equipment. Preferred Qualifications: Associate Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical, or Biotechnology and 2 years of lab experience using mass spectrometry or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical, or Biotechnology from an accredited university.
