Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Public Staff Tax Accountant in Sturgis, South Dakota. The accountant will be part of a team that operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including tax preparation, customer service, and administrative duties.

Responsibilities:

• Execute tax-related tasks for individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations

• Develop and present tax planning scenarios to clients

• Ensure accurate completion of final adjusting entries for business clients prior to tax preparation

• Conduct regular reviews of tasks performed by entry level staff members

• Utilize Lacerte Tax Software for various accounting functions

• Engage in active communication and relationship building with clients, firm leadership, and peers

• Maintain a high level of detail oriented aptitude and confidently convey skills, knowledge, and qualifications to clients

• Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Office for various tasks. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting or related field

• Proficiency in accounting functions and principles

• Extensive experience with annual tax procedures

• Proven skills in tax preparation and filing

• Proficiency in using Lacerte Tax Software

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification preferred

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
