Job Summary:

Akima Systems Engineering (ASE)is seeking a Master Technical Specialist to design and develop scalable and high-performance applications and projects for the Department of Defense (DoD). The position requires extensive experience with full-stack development to include front-end, back-end, and UX/UI design to develop end-to-end solutions.To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a development team to design and implement a high-quality, scalable, and efficient Learning Management System (LMS) tailored for the DoD.

  • Actively participate in project planning meetings to accurately estimate development efforts, propose effective solutions, and ensure alignment with project objectives. Provide technical insights to optimize project timelines and resource allocation.

  • Conduct thorough testing, including unit testing and alpha testing, to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software. Implement automated testing frameworks where applicable to improve testing efficiency and accuracy.

  • Design and develop scalable and high-performance applications and projects with the ability to troubleshoot, resolve, and test complex technical issues with HTML5, CSS, SCORM, CMI5 and Java applications.

  • Leverage familiarity with front-end technologies to create user-friendly and compliant interfaces. Address and remediate accessibility concerns to ensure compliance with Section 508 standards.

  • Modify existing software and develop special-purpose software to ensure efficiency and integrity between systems and applications.

  • Perform software feasibility analysis for potential future projects.

  • Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design.

  • Develop database schemas and optimize database queries to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Secret Clearance

  • Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with 7 years of professional experience working with Java development in education or training.

  • In-depth knowledge of the Java programming language and its core libraries.

  • Proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle and Postgres.

  • Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, SCORM, and CMI5.

  • Experience remediating accessibility concerns to ensure compliance with 508 standards.

  • Experience developing using the “Wild Fly” application server.

  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degreein Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

  • TS Clearance with SCI Eligibility

  • Experience with eLearning and curriculum and courseware authoring for web-based training and education development.

  • Strong awareness of cybersecurity principles and practices to ensure the protection of systems and data.

  • Proven experience in leading technical projects, teams, or initiatives.

  • Advanced skills in programming languages and scripting

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems.
