Project Overview:

Bechtel Equipment Operations, Inc. (BEO), a wholly owned Bechtel affiliate company, functions as the construction equipment asset manager of Bechtel Group and is actively engaged in projects across all of Bechtel's business lines. In support of its involvement, BEO uses sophisticated estimating and scheduling systems to assist projects in developing bid proposals, equipment lease versus purchase analysis, tool and consumable utilization forecasts, scaffold estimating and supply, and overall construction fleet utilization plans. Headquartered in Sugar Land, Texas, BEO also manages several permanent global equipment storage and support facilities.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will support project logistics lead and team by performing technical or commercial logistics work. Position will be responsible for performing Logistics responsibilities of moderate complexity in support of project requirements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery and receipt of goods to meet project requirements. Additionally, you will be responsible to support Logistics Service Provider (LSP) project operations including directing operations associated with the inbound movement of project procured materials from various domestic and international suppliers to project site. Ensure assigned LSPs performance are in compliance with the contract and within schedules and budgets. Your work will help ensure project requirements are satisfied in accordance with policies and procedures. #LI-CS1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Performs work as a Logistics technical or commercial role supporting a moderate sized project with moderate scope as a deployed, dedicated resource in the home office or field

  • Performs domestic and international multi-leg shipment responsibilities in support of project requirements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements

  • Coordinates shipments with requisite internal and external entities

  • Ensures entry of shipment tracking data into Oracle Transportation (OTM) and other functional tools/systems to provide visibility shipment status

  • Prepares logistics reports or performance metrics as required to satisfy project information requirements

  • Ensures audit and processing of Logistics Service Provider invoices in accordance with project procedures

  • Identifies transport cost and service alternatives to support materials/equipment purchase decisions and use of Logistics Service Providers

  • Assists the project Logistics Lead as requested

  • Files and resolves Logistics Service Provider claims

  • Prepares Logistics Service Provider commercial bid tabs, commitment authorizations and contract documents

  • Prepares logistics studies including site and Logistics Service Provider facility visits

  • Integrates safety requirements and measures in all logistics activities

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of industry packing, making, and shipping requirements

  • Knowledge and practical understanding of Incoterms (2020)

  • Knowledge of U.S. importing and exporting formalities and processes Knowledge of domestic and international trade and delivery terms,

  • Career-level position within field

  • Considered skilled and proficient in discipline

  • Professional with an understanding of area of specialization, resolves a wide range of issues

  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires a review of a variety of factors

  • Demonstrates judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

  • Networks and connects with internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
