Atlantic Health System Patient Care Technician I- PT Varied Shifts Pre-Admission Testing OMC in Summit, New Jersey

Assist the physician and nurse in the Pre-op Medical Evaluation/Anesthesia Center with preparation and facilitation of pre-op optimization visit. Supports completion of outpatient testing by performing venipuncture, electrocardiogram (EKG), mid-turbinate swabs, and collecting additional laboratory testing as ordered by the provider.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements

Education: High School Graduate or GED. Ability to read, write and speak English.

Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in an outpatient medical or inpatient acute care setting preferred

1-2 years phlebotomy, secretary-technician or patient care technician experience preferred.

Preferred:

  1. Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written

  2. Patient, compassionate nature

  3. Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and nurses

  4. Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems

    Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations

    Certificates: Certified Phlebotomy Technician Preferred
