We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Test Engineer to join the Systems Engineering, Integration, and Testing (SEIT) team. This multi-disciplinary team of system engineers, data scientists, and test engineers is dedicated to advancing knowledge in robotics and automation, focusing on how millions of customer orders are fulfilled daily. As a Test Engineer, you will provide hands-on support during test runs on new technology, recording test run data, making observations on machine performance, coordinating testing logistics, and preparing test articles. You will take guidance from a SEIT Test Engineer and work across multiple products and programs, conducting test cases and providing reports based on results. Collaboration with Test Engineers and the Program team to continuously improve test cases and methods of testing is essential.
Responsibilities
Provide hands-on support during test runs on new technology.
Record test run data and make observations on machine performance.
Coordinate testing logistics and prepare test articles.
Conduct test cases provided by SEIT and provide detailed reports based on results.
Collaborate with Test Engineers to continuously improve test cases and methods of testing.
Communicate with Program team members to influence the product graduation path.
Essential Skills
2+ years of quality assurance engineering experience.
Experience in verification testing.
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience working in new technology or product development.
Proficiency in Python scripting, electro-mechanical systems, and lab testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Experience designing and planning test conditions, test scripts, and test data sets.
Deep hands-on technical expertise in testing electro-mechanical systems.
Experience writing test reports and analyzing data.
Experience in automation or robotic systems.
Understanding of rapid prototyping options.
Experience with Agile Development and FEA (Ansys and/or SW Simulation).
Understanding of safety systems and familiarity with manufacturing environments.
Basic coding/scripting capabilities.
Experience creating test plans derived from functional design requirements.
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
Design experience of simple parts, assemblies, and fixtures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability and desire to work hands-on in lab environments.
Work Environment
You will be working in a lab environment located at BFI1 (Auburn, WA) and BOS27 (Westborough, MA). The SEIT team consists of system engineers, data scientists, and test engineers dedicated to advancing the knowledge of robotics and automation. You will collaborate with various roles within the MSP organization, including product owners, TPMs, and system engineers. The focus will be on conducting test cases post-approval of system-level requirements, with an internal approval process for writing test cases. Contractors will assist in conducting test cases and can provide feedback on test cases and requirements. You will handle 100-150 requirements end-to-end, ensuring a one-to-one relationship between test cases and business/system requirements. Data handling and analysis during testing are essential, and tasks may include basic logistics such as palletizing and inducting items. The role requires 25-30% national travel, with an initial focus on lab acclimation before transitioning to more independent field testing.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00
