Eaton Corporation Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift in Sumter, South Carolina

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift. This Supervisor will be assigned to Sumter's Switchboard Assembly at Mission Critical.

As the Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift you will manage and direct the switchboard assembly operations at Mission Critical to produce and ship product, at minimum cost, in accordance with engineering design specifications, quality standards, customer service goals, and profitability. You will effectively communicate and work with all levels of plant personnel to complete your job function and meet safety, quality and productivity goals.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

  • Work directly with production team members to provide direction on daily tasks and resolution of issues

  • Contribute to a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by ensuring you and your team comply with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.

  • Ensure that production demands are met by your department and that team leaders understand their roles in the upkeep of order fulfillment.

  • Foster positive employee relations with direct reports and key stakeholders & a high-performing work team culture throughout the facility.

  • Serve as a central point of contact for management in regard to production issues in one’s functional area.

  • Participate in the assessment, selection, training, coaching and development of employees and foster strong employee performance.

  • Investigate and solve quality issues and/or serve as a point of contact through which quality issues can be resolved. Ensure that employees know the importance of quality and enforces follow through. Works with quality control team to resolve issues and regularly reviews quality trends in the market.

  • Manage time records via Kronos to monitor productivity and work performance within the team

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution OR High School Diploma/GED plus 10 years manufacturing experience.

  • 3 years of experience supporting Data Centers, Manufacturing, Operations, or technical processes.

  • 3 years of leadership experience managing people or project teams.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Sumter facility (50 mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Five years of leadership experience managing people or project teams.

  • Knowledge with Lean manufacturing / Operational Excellence skills in 5S+, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Management, etc.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach at or above shoulder level; grip; and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop; lift; carry; push; pull; and grip. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds. The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to listen and to talk.
