The IS&T Retail Engineering organization has the goal of providing intuitive, seamless, and inspiring customer shopping experiences through interactions with our people, products, and services. We are seeking an experienced senior leader to orchestrate retail expansion programs and other large-scale strategic programs for Apple Retail engineering. This role requires mobilizing cross-functional teams from both business and IT to influence, drive, and implement innovative retail concepts. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, with the ability to encourage and effectively lead a team of highly qualified Program managers. The candidate must excel in communication, providing status updates, and addressing issues with all levels of management, business stakeholders, and officials from various governmental agencies.

Description

Retail Expansion Programs are crucial within Apple’s Retail Engineering organization. With a strategic mindset and strong operational abilities, the Manager of this team acts as an ambassador and influencer, driving Retail’s growth into new markets. This highly visible communicator leads engineering and business teams in creating systematic solutions to support the Apple store Retail operations in a new country. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: - Lead engineering and business teams in developing systematic solutions that support the procurement, sale, and service of materials and hardware, establishing new product supply chains for international markets. - Effective leadership across diverse teams is essential, as this role sets the tone, pace, and priorities for the Retail expansion program. - Exceptional decision-making, leadership among peers, courage, confidence, and relentless curiosity for emerging trends in technology, regulations, culture, and retail are essential qualities. - Adept at swiftly identifying key levers to drive performance and prioritize both team and individual development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience

  • 5 years experience leading teams, providing technical direction and mentorship.

  • 8 years of experience in the software development lifecycle with experience in the Retail domain.

  • 8 years of experience leading cross-functional project teams towards meeting project goals, resolving challenges, mitigating risk, and keeping Business partners informed by applying knowledge of SAP, Point of Sale, and Retail payment processing

  • Proven track record of developing business growth strategies.

  • 5 years of e-commerce programs and product management experience in a large corporate environment

  • Ability to represent the Apple brand and maintain the Apple culture broadly.

  • Ability to exude confidence around business and engineering executives (Directors, Sr. Directors, VPs)

  • Ability to lead, take action, and provide goal-oriented direction in the face of ambiguity

  • Comfortable expressing a point of view and influencing change across projects, programs, and processes

  • Knowledge of Apple Retail and core products and operating systems

  • Sustained track record of building effective teams and an inclusive work environment, promoting, hiring and developing teams and future leaders.

  • Passion for technology and innovation.

  • A leader among peers and partners.

  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with all levels within the organization.

  • Travel required across store locations

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $200,400 and $301,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
