Walmart Senior, Software Engineer in Sunnyvale, California

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

As a iOS Software Engineer, you will showcase expertise in Swift programming and utilize this skill to develop, enhance, and launch the Walmart Vision Center App. Additionally, you are expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams, guiding team in completing features that are ready for production release.

Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

What you'll do:

Business Requirement Analysis: Understand complex product requirements that are derived from various departments including Product Management, Design and other teams involved in the Vision Center operations.

Detailed Technical Specification: Convert these requirements into detailed technical specifications for each feature to be implemented by the development team.

Implementation of Features: Engage directly with the development team to implement features based on technical specifications ensuring they align with Walmart Vision Center's business objectives and customer experience goals.

Adherence to Best Industry Standards: Apply best practices in software engineering including proper design patterns, coding standards, and security measures that meet industry standards for reliability, performance, scalability, and maintainability of the Vision Center application.

Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews along with other developers to provide feedback on the technical correctness, efficiency, readability, and adherence to coding standards.

Collaboration & Coordination: Foster a collaborative work environment by coordinating closely with various team members including UX/UI designers, product managers, QA teams, and stakeholders for seamless implementation of features.

What you'll bring:

Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex requirements into clear technical steps that are easy to understand and implement.

Effective Communication Skills: Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical concepts effectively to both non-technical team members as well as developers.

Attention to Detail: Must have meticulous attention to detail in translating requirements, code development, reviews, etc., ensuring accuracy and completeness of each step.

Technical Proficiency: Possess strong programming skills preferably using Swift or other relevant languages and frameworks used for Walmart's Vision Center application. Knowledge of agile methodologies is essential for efficient team collaboration and project management.

Adherence to Best Practices: Familiarity with best practices in software development such as design patterns, coding standards, security protocols, and performance optimization techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience: 5+ years of experience as a Test Engineer, with a focus on mobile application testing (iOS).

  • Strong technical skills: Solid understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC), testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and API testing principles.

  • iOS testing expertise: Hands-on experience testing iOS applications using relevant tools and frameworks.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Problem-solving and analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve complex testing challenges.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

  • Knowledge of healthcare or vision-related technologies.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
