Google Systems Development Engineer, Google Distributed Cloud Edge in Sunnyvale, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience in a programming/project management role, working with building automation systems or power monitoring systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with data centers, operations, or computing infrastructure including multi-tiered distributed application environments.

In this role, you will provide support for day 0 installation challenges such as Google Distributed Cloud Edge (GDCE) zone setup issues (e.g., cabling errors, network issues, hardware DOA), edgeOS boot up problems, networking complications, cluster creation hurdles, and more. Additionally, you will be responsible for troubleshooting customer workload migration issues, including script/playbook errors and store-specific configuration discrepancies.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $102,000-$150,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Identify the repetitive issues and design automated remediation solutions in order to reduce toil. Participate in rotating on-call schedules including weekends and holidays for seamless production operations.

  • Interface with external hardware vendors to ensure the requirements and specifications of GDCE servers are strictly implemented.
