Amazon Technical Program Manager, Smart Home in Sunnyvale, California

Description

The Alexa Smart Home team is looking for a passionate, results-oriented Technical Program Manager who will be responsible for delivering engaging and innovative smart home features for our customers.

Key job responsibilities

This role requires hands-on project management skills, deep technical expertise, and excellent leadership skills. You will be responsible for collecting requirements from internal and external customers, driving projects from design to release, and managing the production launch.

In this role, you will

  • Bring structure to ambiguous problems and use your technical expertise, logic and experience to find solutions.

  • Deliver results by leading cross functional development teams from design to roll out.

  • Work with key stakeholders in product management and leadership teams to define strategy and requirements.

  • Earn trust through regular communication with senior management on status, risks and change control.

A day in the life

You will work with product and partner stakeholders to define customer facing features. You'll manage feature delivery from end to end by guiding product, engineering, QA and partners. You'll dive into customer experience, requirements, engineering plans. You'll guide the product, engineering, science and operations teams to develop experiences at the edge, in the cloud, and integrate them into consumer services.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 2+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 2+ years of software development experience

  • 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
