Discovery Frontend team is looking for a Software Engineer to join the team responsible for delivering great experiences that scale to billions of queries for millions of products across Walmart sites and mobile apps. This collaborative team made up of engineering, UX, product management, analytics, along with web and technology evangelists, is rapidly launching new products and site features at scale. We deliver high performing solutions on our next generation front-end platform, Electrode (Node.js and React). About Team:

Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

What you'll do:

• Gather business requirements, determine the changes to application architecture and design, develop, test, automate and support software for Walmart e-Commerce's web and server side applications.

• Create User Interfaces inside frontend applications that turn ideas and designs into features for customers.

• Debug and troubleshoot technical issues in the web and server side applications written in Javascript, html, css, React, Node.JS and such frameworks.

• Perform root cause analysis on business problems and fix the software bugs to reduce customer issues.

• Perform AB testing and analyze AB test results with data and customer feedback to identify and fix issues related to software applications.

• Work on environment setup for development, testing and deployment of software applications.

• Setup management, monitoring, and alerting systems to monitor the infrastructure running the software applications using Splunk, New Relic, PagerDuty, xMatters, Graphana, etc.

• Build, maintain and enhance automated software test suite for all new software features and enhancements using automation tool such as Appium, Selenium, Espresso, etc.

• Automate production software deployments in Jenkins and OneOps including monitoring and alerting.

What you'll bring:

X4 - Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

• Experience in Front End development with React, Redux, NodeJS, and their ecosystems.

• Experience writing clean React, Next.JS, HTML, Javascript and CSS.

• Experience in building fault-tolerant, high performance FE architecture.

• Experience with unit testing and automation frameworks.

• Experience with testing techniques and methodologies and troubleshooting defects.

• Experience in continuous integration and delivery.

• Understanding of version Control systems, preferably GIT.

• Experience with engineering best practices, including use of design patterns, and code reviews.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You can effectively in both independent and team environments.

Preferred educational requirement:

• 4-5 years of experience building scalable e-commerce applications.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
