The Digital Banking - Payments Platform, is responsible for clearing more than 500 million transactions a year globally, with a value of over 1 trillion dollars (Yep! that’s not a typo, trillion with a T). This is a mission critical endeavor, with plenty of interesting engineering challenges in a space that is ripe for innovation. Open banking, ISO 20022, real-time/instant-payments, and modern cross-border schemes are revolutionizing clearing and settlement. Our Platform is becoming the gateway to existing and emerging global payment rails; and we are using an innovative integration stack in order to “speak” the many schemes and formats. Beyond the transactional aspect, our differentiating value is contextual. A rich data backbone and deep integration with enterprise data sources allow us to offer powerful omnichannel APIs and extension points used by developers that build customer facing experiences such as: P2P payments, loans, bill-pay, commercial cross border payments, AP automation, and many more.

Focus:

Leads the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, debugging, deployment, documentation, reliability, and availability of software and systems that meet the needs of customer-facing applications, business applications, and/or internal end-user tools and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Development

  • Perform technical aspects of software development

  • Function as a leader on a software engineering team by contributing to software builds through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation)

  • Lead code reviews and automated testing

  • Debug software components and identify code defects for remediation

  • Leads the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments.

  • Automate deployments in test or production environments

  • Automatically scale applications based on demand projections

  • Adhere to security and regulatory best practices

Leadership

  • Demonstrate increased self-reliance to achieve team goals

  • Influence team members with creative changes and improvements by challenging status quo and demonstrating risk taking

  • Be a productivity multiplier for your team by analyzing your work flow and contributing to enable the team to be more effective, productive, and demonstrating faster and stronger results.

  • Mentor and guide success within the team

Scope of Impact/Influence

  • Leads and mentors teams of engineers through ongoing development efforts

  • Ensures engineers enforce team standards

  • Ensures Engineering team delivers a quality product that meets the customers’ needs

  • Accountable for accurate completion and quality of all documentation and work produced by engineering team

Knowledge/Skills

  • Able to communicate complex data structures and associated components

  • Designs, codes, tests, maintains, and documents application components

  • Lead reviews of colleagues' work

  • Defines test conditions based on the functional and non-functional requirements provided

  • Has deep understanding of the core tools used in the planning, analyzing, crafting, building, testing, configuring, and maintaining of assigned application(s)

  • Monitors system performance and availability and improves software quality through root cause analysis

  • Deep understanding of infrastructure technologies and components

Education & Experience

5 years of software development experience in a professional environment such as:Wide breath of engineering experience

  • Proven experience leading teams of engineers

  • Hands-on expertise with application design, software development, and automated testing

  • Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experience required; advanced degree preferred

Qualifications

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually bonus benefits

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
