Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Engineering Tech SR to join our Sykesville, Maryland team. In the Mission Systems sector, you’ll join our experts in developing systems and solutions that keep our world safe.

The candidate must be able to apply electronics principles in the fabrication, test, and troubleshooting of complete components, assemblies, devices, circuits, and systems.

The Engineering Tech SR will perform acceptance test procedures that verify equipment function. This includes, but is not limited to:

Determining the methods and techniques for effectively monitoring various tests and measuring electrical performance on complex systems

Selection, set up, calibration and operation of complex and special equipment and facilities over a broad spectrum of technologies.

Verification and validation of product and paperwork configuration, test processes and test equipment/setup configuration and calibration

Measuring, collecting and recording of electrical performance data including analysis and evaluation of the data, experimental models, resultant data, etc. that verifies the reliability and validity of the desired function, preparing accurate and complete test reports of all recorded data

Programming and verification of devices

Troubleshooting of systems, devices, processes and/or test set-ups to locate and repair defective areas

Assisting engineers in creating designs and/or developing circuits, processes and operations that assure proper function of product and test equipment per design specifications by working from general block diagrams, rough outlines of basic circuits, oral instructions, schematics, etc; making necessary calculations to obtain or compare data as required.

Developing, constructing and testing highly complex components, assemblies, devices, circuits and systems; developing and constructing experimental and prototype devices, models and systems working from very general information; performing repairs and calibrations as necessary

Performing initial procedural tests on new and/or changed equipment; making modifications/calibrations as required to achieve desired results

Must be capable of readily adapting to changing assignments and requirements.

Development of processes, test specifications and revision notices

Performing integration of software and hardware through debugging, writing code and modifying systems; performing maintenance and integration of peripherals and networks

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED with an additional 10+ years of relevant Experience with fabrication and test of complex components, assemblies, devices, circuits and systems

Must have knowledge of electronics principles.

Must have a current active DoD Secret Security Clearance(minimum) with an investigation date of less than 5 years to be considered

Must be willing to work 1st shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

RF test experience and/or antenna test/range experience

Test development experience in a nearfield antenna range

Experience with electrical and/or RF test equipment

Salary Range: $52,673 - $128,172

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
