Our location in Sylmar, CA currently has an opportunity for a Senior Data Analyst . The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for global data analysis activities for the Abbott Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) postmarket surveillance business. This includes performance metrics, product complaint trending, development of monitoring dashboards, and database management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Internal liaison and subject matter expert for Complaint Handling and Data Warehouse database development, maintenance, and sustainment activities.

  • Assist users in defining global or complex data reports by translating user needs to Data Warehouse reports using Business Objects tool.

  • Partner with cross-functional Quality, Manufacturing, and R&D Teams and worldwide Business Unit Teams to define and / or fulfill data reporting requirements on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

  • Data analysis includes, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • Global Performance Metrics

  • Product Complaint Trending

  • FDA Medical Device Report Similar Incidents

  • EU Medical Device Vigilance Report Similar Incidents

  • Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing relevant reports/analysis, when applicable.

  • Investigate data discrepancies for businesses when local data analysts require assistance.

Other duties may include:

  • Contribute to Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) Investigations, including documentation, implementation of actions and completion of status updates to management, electronically and in meetings.

  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

  • Trending and analytics for objective analysis of novel products and therapy modalities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field OR an equivalent combination of education and work

  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing company.

  • 5+ years’ experience in a data analyst or equivalent role

  • Strong Microsoft Office capabilities (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Demonstrated capabilities with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate)

  • Ability to query and refine data into aggregated results.

  • Ability to work in a geographically diverse business environment.

  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

  • Strong structured problem-solving skills

  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%, including internationally.

Preferred

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Medical Device manufacturing company.

  • 2+ years’ experience in a senior data analyst or equivalent role.

  • Statistical training and experience with associated software

  • Experience in data analysis software

  • Experience in data mapping across multiple systems

  • Knowledge and experience with SAP BusinessObjects

  • Advanced ability with Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot reporting, advanced charting, VBA & macros)

  • Advanced ability with statistical methods (e.g. statistical process control)

  • Experience working with a global Data Warehouse to use for complex reporting

  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model

  • Experience with mapping of requirements from customer to data warehouse

  • Previous experience with executing a project related to the following topics:

  • Key Performance Indicators

  • Complaint Coding/Trending

The base pay for this position is $83,600.00 – $167,200.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
