Syracuse University Assistant Director, Student Events & Activities in Syracuse, New York

The Assistant Director of Student Events and Activities supports the planning, coordination, and execution of student events and activities that foster a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging campus environment. Collaborates with students, faculty, staff, and external partners to ensure a diverse range of activities that enhance student life. Oversees and provides late night and pop-up programming/events including Orange After Dark (OAD), Let's Be Engaged, and Senior Celebration. OAD includes both on-campus and off-campus events that are offered Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings during the academic year. Plans, implements, and supervises late-night events (OAD) each week, including the scheduling of staff and student personnel, helping with oversight of the program budget, as well as all marketing and promotion of the program. The Assistant Director develops and implements effective student leadership and engagement initiatives across the Student Engagement (SE) department. The Assistant Director creates a cohesive and inclusive environment for student staff and volunteers through onboarding, training, and performance evaluation opportunities. Lastly, the Assistant Director serves as co-advisor to University Union, the University's official student-run programming board.
